In 2021, Mama Cash launched a ten-year strategic framework called In Movement Together: Funding Feminist Activism Globally. One inspiring feature of our new strategy is the shift we made in 2021 to participatory grantmaking. A Community Committee of activists now decides which groups will receive new funding from Mama Cash. You can read about our commitment to sharing power, and much more, in our 2021 Annual Report.
Mama Cash is proud to fund and to lift up the work of feminist activists around the world who are facing challenges, innovating, and taking risks. Despite so many obstacles to their work and vision, they continue to organise, to support each other, to spread joy, and to sustain their struggles for justice. Mama Cash remains beside them – in movement together.Last year, Mama Cash gave 210 grants to women’s, girls’, and trans and intersex people’s groups and women’s funds worldwide for a total of more than €6.3 million in direct grants. We also sent €3.65 million to our Count Me In! partners.
